The first step to becoming an accredited Athletics Australia coach is to chose the accreditation that best aligns to your preferred coaching context. You can choose from the following accreditations:

If you have previous coaching experience or a Tertiary degree in a related field, you may be eligible for direct entry into a higher level of accreditation. See more details here.

All of our accreditations are engaging, educational, and entertaining, and are designed to give you a practical understanding of coaching Athletics at all levels of the sport.

Find a Course

Once you have chosen an accreditation, the next step is to register for a one-day, practical course (organised by your State / Territory Athletics Association).

To see a list of all upcoming coach accreditation courses, please refer to the Coach Education Calendar. 

Note: once you have enrolled into the course, you will be given access to the online modules and assessment tasks via the Athletics Learning Centre. 


Apply for RPL

A formal recognition of prior learning (RPL) process is available for coaches who believe they already meet the expected competencies of an accredited coach.
